ANOTHER LEGENDARY  BATTLECRUISER  WAS  THE GERMAN BUILT DKM
SCHARNHORST. THIS 32.000 TON SHIP WAS A VERY SUCCESFUL DESIGN

Most of the battlecruisers fought  againist  impossible odds. HMS Hood fought
with  the German  battleship  Bismarck and lost the gamble. DKM Scharnhorst
fought  with  British  Fleet & mainly  with  the  battleship HMS Duke of York and
sank  during  the  Battle of  North  Cape. HMS Repulse  went  to  bottom  when
terribly  hit  by  the Japanese  torpedoes. Also during WWI, a total of four ships
were lost during the Battle of Skagerrak.

As a German  built  battlecruiser of  WWI, Yavuz  (Goeben)  was the most lucky
one. She lived and served for the Turkish Navy  till 1971. An  unbreakable  and
amazing record for a warship..
